Congratulations Rulon on your induction into the National Wrestling Hall of Fame! It’s been an honor and a privilege to work with you, and to bring your motivational speeches to people around the world. Representing you and your work is easy because after all this time, I still get goose bumps when I think about all you’ve accomplished and the fight in your soul that has kept you at the top of your game for so long. Whenever people ask me about you and your message, I sum it up this way–“I’ve heard his speech approximately 10,000 times at this point, and without fail, every single time, I have this unbelievable urge to “go out and do something with my life” as soon as it’s done.” That’s pretty special and pretty rare, and so are you. I’m very proud of you anyway, but especially proud today.

Rulon’s plaque at the National Wrestling Hall of Fame in Stillwater, OK reads, “Rulon Gardner cartwheeled into the hearts of all Americans when he upset the seemingly invincible Russian Alexander Karelin at the 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney, Australia.”
